Foreigner was formed in 1976 in New York City by English musicians Mick Jones and Ian McDonald along with American vocalist Lou Gramm. The band took their name from this mixing of musicians from different countries. While Foreigner is mostly known for their US and UK chart-topping 1984 single, “I Want to Know What Love Is,” they are much more than a one-hit wonder. Selling over 80 million albums, including their massively successful album, 1981’s 4. Alongside many successful albums and songs that remain a part of culture today, like “Cold As Ice” or “Jukebox Hero,” Foreigner is one of the biggest, arguably most underrated rock bands of all time. Foreigner continues to tour and record music today.
