All female rock band The Go Go's are from Los Angeles California and formed in 1978. The girls played their own instruments and wrote their own songs and eventually rose to fame in the early 1980's. The band broke up in 1985, but regrouped several times in the 1990s and after. The Go-Go's have sold over 7 million records worldwide. The members are Belinda Carlisle, Gina Schock, Jane Wiedlin, Kathy Valentine, and Charlotte Caffey.
